Photo by Karen Evans<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The event highlighted the importance of integrated assessments for decision-making, identified related capacity gaps and needs and gave room for showcasing best practices and lessons learned for enhancing the science-policy interface to support the World Ocean Assessment.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. J\u00f6rn Schmidt (Kiel Marine Science, ICES and German Focal Point for the World Ocean Assessment), presented the current PROG projects <a href=\"https:\/\/www.prog-ocean.org\/our-work\/strong-high-seas\/\">STRONG High Seas<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.prog-ocean.org\/marine-regions-forum\/\">Marine Regions Forum<\/a> to a wide audience.
